Casually waiting for my spirit to return

I am honestly a bit tired these days and my positive “work spirit” has kinda taken a little break. I don’t know if it’s due to my crazy partying last Saturday, the fact that Johan and I are both a bit sick or if it’s the lack of hanging with my “colleagues”, getting work done to bad coffee and lots of laugther. I guess a combination.

I just don’t seem to be able to come up with anything creative and I do 100 things at the same time, losing focus over and over again. So, I let all work be for a while and got on my bike and met up with Charlotte for some quality time over coffee and avocado toast at Non Solo Bar.

On my way home I went by my favorite spot to soak up some sun and gather my thoughts, and have been able to get at least two things done after I got home. Progress people, progress!

Anyone else having a creative block? Maybe it is the season change that has thrown me off my feet? But I love fall, best part of the year. Guess it just takes some getting used too.

Soon to be 30

Holy cow what happened to time? I had plans on both blogging and working during my vacation and suddenly it has been two weeks and I am already back home. A few planned blog posts less, but a whole lot of lovely memories richer. One of them being the amazing celebration of my soon to be 30th birthday.

Since I wanted to have a barbecue party I had to have it a tad earlier than the 5th of October. So I gathered friends and family from both countries at my dads place and had the best party in a long time. We are talking dancing, singing, laughter, kind words and a whole lot of love and fun. We took some pictures during the welcome drink, but the glories mess that followed will be stored in my heart forever.

There are some people in life that make you laugh a little louder, smile a little bigger and live a little better. Thank you all for being in mine! Showing me what truly matters in life.

Also got my very first piñata! You can never get too old for a piñata!

After pizza comes power walk

After devouring both pizza and chocolate while watching a movie yesterday, we decided a power walk would do us good. Since we also had planned nachos and wine later in the evening. It is all about balance, right?

So we went for a walk as soon as it stopped raining and it was pretty nice to get our pulse up and get moving.

The name Sædberg made Emma go crazy haha

When we got home we jumped in the ocean to cool down, and then spent the evening playing Ludo. The perfect end to a very nice girls weekend (or mini vacay).

Today we did 30 minutes of yoga outdoors and ate lunch, before Emma headed on back home. Now I am sitting here with my coffee, blogging and waiting for my dad and grandmother to arrive later tonight.

Hope your day is awesome, whatever you´re doing!

Girls night under the stars

My dear friend Emma took the long trip down to Mandal to join me at the summerhouse for two days! The evening she arrived the weather allowed us to move our girls night outdoors and we spent the night eating, drinking and talking for hours. So cozy!

Emma lives two hours from Oslo and I live in Stockholm, so we rarely get to spend more than a few hours together when we see each other, so having two whole days with her, all alone, did me good. Friendships like that makes life so much better!

We even went for a night swim, but seeing as we are both terrified to be alone in the dark water, it took some time to get our butts in the water. You know that moment when you are looking for and adult to jump in first, but then you realize you are an adult. So you look for an older adult. Someone successfully adulting. The “adultier adult”. Guess non of us (or both of us?!) turned out to be that person.

Pretty damn proud, haha

Hand to heart

Woke up to sun yesterday, and I could feel my body longing for a little yoga. There has been a lot going on recently and there is nothing better than a little time on the mat to sort through it all.

Yoga helps us to heal and strengthen the heart

I chose to focus on back bending poses (also referred to as “heart openers”) like camel pose, fish pose and cobra pose, to help me open and balance the heart chakra, and release tension and blocked emotions. I even threw in five minutes of meditation, and I honestly never meditate, kinda don´t like it. Maybe something about this place!

Afterwards I took my coffee down to the water and just took some time to myself.

What about you? How do you like to sort through things? Ever tried yoga?

Morning silence

Woke up this morning to the sound of nothing. Just total silence. It was 05:00 and the light had woken me up. Got out of bed and went outside on the terrasse, just standing there for a few minutes, enjoying the view of the pink sky. No camera, no phone, just me.

Got back to bed and dose off again, and now, a few hours later I am sitting here with my morning coffee, enjoying the view. Now I most definitely have that vacation feeling.

I arrived at my dads summerhouse yesterday and will be here the next two weeks.

Looks like the sun might hide from us today so will see what the day brings, maybe a trip into the city. Happy Friday!

Mimosa and girl talk

Yesterday I had invited some friends over for a weekend brunch and I was so proud. I am THE worst in the kitchen, but I actually managed to serve food for five people! Small step for human kind, but a huge step for me (#dramatic)!

Alexandra, Marie, Charlotte & Felicia

All being bloggers we of course let the camera eat first!

I served Alpro yoghurt (vegan) with granola and raspberries, crackers with red hummus, homemade banana waffles (not vegan), my green super mix and a little mimosa. Afterwards we had a little chocolate and caramels, but it was so damn hot in the apartment everything just melted, ourselves included.

Finding your passion isn’t just about careers and money, it’s about finding a home in likeminded people!

Some images borrowed from Charlotte

It was so cozy to just sit and talk for a few hours. Funny how we girls can just talk and talk and then suddenly we stop, trying to figure out what the hell boys talk about when they get together (have no idea how we ended up doing that). We guessed politics and a few minutes later we of course talked a little politics, haha!

I feel very lucky to have met these wonderful ladies through my work with Best of You and now get to call them my friends ❤
